Question 1:
I've done a lot of things that leads to pain. For example, when i was young(primary 1) i use to touch the iron, when it's hot and obviously scale my hand. Or tried rolling down the staircase out of curiosity just to find out how it feels like. And it was actually fun but i ended having bruises everywhere. But that wasn't really painful. The most painful experience I've been through that is so unbearable i could die is when i poke my ear till it bleed. I didn't do it on purpose this time. It was definitely an accident. I have a habit of putting cotton bud in my ear after bathing. Of course after i put on my clothes and all and after 2 minutes, I'll take it off. It's just my way to clear the water. On that day, I forgot and i lie on one side on the bed, and that made the cotton bud to go in deeper in my ear. I felt liquid oozing out my ear when i look at my pillow, i saw BLOOD! Yes and i screamed. That's when i know the difference, i can't really hear myself but i could hear people around me clearly.I was rushed to hospital, And now I'm alright(or maybe almost). The pain was excruciating. I was probably half dying( i can see a white light) haha, I'm joking. This was probably the cause of why i talk loudly, cause i can't really hear myself and so i think people can't hear me but I'm actually shouting at them.
Question 2:
the use of alternative medicine is becoming very widespread . why might this be so?
I think it's probably because some people just prefer the traditional methods and it actually does work. And instead of taking all that medication(drugs) for weeks, alternative medicine can stop/lessen the pain effectively, most of the time. Like my aunt, she can't really walk and after going for a traditional Chinese massage or maybe reflexology (for a few time), she's walking now.She said the pain decreases in time after the massage. Maybe, not really walking normally(half limping) but at least she can move from a place to another without a wheelchair or any help.
Or, maybe because people get side effects due to the drugs(medicine) that is needed of them to consume to ease the pain. And it's obviously unpleasant. So, they try the alternative way. However, some people still prefer the Western medication. Maybe because it's convenient for them or they're probably not use to traditional medication. So, i guess that's all.

Good! I like your personal story and your description of it. Certainly excruciating.
ReplyDeleteGood elaboration on second question also. You managed to bring in personal or others' stories though you don't have any experience with alt medicine. Keep it up. Remember to give 2 sides of the story. Give a balanced view.
